Lupit ng Kalikasan ni Pat Villafuerte Buong Tula ng Pagmamahal sa Kalikasan
Una ko siyang nakilala sa Unibersidad. Bulung-bulungan noon ang kanyang pagiging isang sikat na manunulat. Bukod sa pagiging isang magaling na manunulat, siya din ay isang makata, komposer, aktor, lider, at guro. Anim na ulit siyang nagwagi sa Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature at pitong ulit na ginawaran ng Gawad Surian. Nakapagsulat siya ng 136 na aklat sa lahat ng antas bilang awtor at ko-awtor, mahigit na 150 tula, sanaysay at maikling kwento na naipalathala sa mga aklat, pahayagan at magasin. sumulat din siya ng dulang “Sa Mahal kong bayan” na naitanghal sa iba’t ibang rehiyon ng Pilipinas at sa Estados Unidos.
Ganun na lamang ang aking pangamba ng malaman ko na siya ang aking magiging propesor sa Filipino. Sa panahon na aking nakasalamuha ang magiting na propesor, aking napagtanto na sa kabila ng kanyang kasikatan, hindi siya mapaghambog at walang pag-iimbot niyang itinuturo sa amin ang kanyang nalalaman. Makailang ulit din niyang iniwawasto ang aking pananalita at pagsusulat sa Filipino. Lagi niyang sinasabi sa akin na “Ang tunay na matalino ay magaling makipagtalastasan at magsulat hindi lamang sa wikang Ingles kundi maging sa Filipino”.
Nang matanggap ko ang kanyang handog na tula, makailang ulit ko itong binasa para lamang maabot ang rurok ng kagandahan at kabuluhan ng nasabing tula. At sa pamamagitan nitong aking blog, nais kong maging biyaya din sa inyo ang kahusayan ng aking guro at kaibigan, G. Pat Villafuerte.
